Why is this the best salmon recipe you’ve ever had?
The following is a recipe for Cajun Salmon that I really like:
- In about 15 minutes, you can have a delicious meal.
- Keto and low-carb friendly
- Perfectly cooked in a pan and bursting with garlic butter taste
- Cooked salmon may be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for 2-3 months, making it ideal for meal prep.
- Season the salmon the night before cooking since it just takes 10 minutes to cook in the pan.
Is Salmon a Keto Food?
Yes, salmon is a healthy addition to any diet. It’s one of the most nutrient-dense meals available, as well as a good source of protein. Salmon is an excellent keto meal since it is low in carbohydrates, rich in good fats, B vitamins, and selenium, and studies have shown that it may aid weight reduction. Salmon is a zero-carb meal that can be prepared in a variety of ways and tastes great.
What is the definition of Cajun seasoning?
Cajun seasoning comes from Louisiana, and it’s very flexible. It’s created using spices that are frequently used in Cajun cooking. Essential components include paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and pepper.
It’s not only easy to make, but you probably already have all of the spices you’ll need! Homemade Cajun spice is much superior than store-bought, and you have complete control over the quality of the components.
How Do You Pick Salmon?
- Texture — Avoid filings that are chalky, dry, sticky, or soft to the touch. Choose filets that are glossy and sturdy to the touch.
- Look for filets that have a vibrant, rich color. Depending on the salmon type, salmon should be pink or coral in hue. You should seek for a brightly colored fish rather than a white one.
- Smell – The fish should not have a strong odor. Salmon with a fishy odor should be avoided.
Cajun Pan-Seared Salmon Ingredients
If you like salmon, you’ll enjoy this fast and simple low-carb salmon recipe. Here’s a list of everything you’ll need:
- Salmon fillets with the skin on — a low-cost, widely eaten fish that is healthy, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and protein, and easy to cook. As the meat cooks, the skin helps it retain moisture and form.
- Extra virgin olive oil — I used extra virgin olive oil to make the salmon skin extra crispy, although avocado oil or butter would also work.
- Garlic cloves — Use fresh minced garlic or canned garlic to save time.
- White wine – Any dry white wine or white cooking wine is good.
- Parsley — gives a wonderful fresh flavor to the dish, and the brilliant green color makes it appear appealing.
- Lemon juice — This recipe calls for lemon slices as well as lemon juice. Lemons are a must-have ingredient in this recipe.
- Cajun spice — This flavor pairs well with fish.
How to Cook Cajun Salmon in a Pan
You just need to follow a few simple steps to make this delectable Pan-Seared Cajun Salmon.
- Season the salmon with Cajun Seasoning, salt, and pepper to begin.
- Then cook the salmon by putting each piece skin side up for 3-4 minutes, then flipping over and cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
- Make the sauce first. To preserve the salmon flavor, add the butter and garlic to the same pan and cook until the garlic is tender. Then, over medium heat, add the white wine and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- More butter, freshly chopped parsley, lemon juice, and a pinch of Cajun Seasoning are added to the pan. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Return the salmon to the pan and brush each fillet with a few teaspoons of garlic butter.
- Remove from the fire, garnish with parsley, garlic sauce, and more lemon juice, if preferred.
When Is Salmon Ready To Eat?
Salmon is cooked and safe to eat when an instant meat thermometer placed in the thickest section of the fillet registers a temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the USDA—fish continues to cook after being removed from the fire.
Whether you cook salmon in the oven or in a pan, you must avoid overcooking it. To determine whether the salmon is done, I prefer to examine it with a fork to see if it flakes easily. It’s also semi-translucent on the inside, which I enjoy. It’s medium-rare, according to this. Cook it until the inside is somewhat opaque, but not for too long! You don’t want it to dry out.
