Toughbooks are best known as rugged laptops intended for the business professional, but they have also been used by the military and in the field of electronics. They come in a variety of configurations, but they all serve the same purpose: to make sure that technology keeps running in the most brutal environments.
Panasonic has updated its Toughbook line with a series of new tablets and convertibles in its Toughpad line. The new models are available with Windows 10 Pro (up to 10.0.15063.380) and Android (v6.0). The new Toughpad 55 has a choice between a 12.1″ FHD display and an FHD+ display. The Toughpad 55 comes in a choice of color options.
The Panasonic Toughbook 55 is a rugged notebook computer designed for harsh, industrial field applications. The rugged construction includes an anti-shock, anti-vibration system, an impact-resistant keyboard, and a spill-resistant design. The Toughbook 55 is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Pentium M processor, and features a 13.3 inch TFT LCD display with an 800 x 600 resolution. With 12-hour battery life, Panasonic’s robust design and Intel Pentium M processor provide for long-term reliability for applications where minimal downtime and maximum productivity is critical.
Since its introduction to the market in 2019, the Toughbook has constantly established itself as the hardest PC on the street. Panasonic made another move yesterday to solidify its leadership position. The manufacturer of the world’s most durable laptop released a press release detailing a slew of new features and upgrades for the Toughbook 55 MK2. The majority of them are designed to provide customers better performance and greater freedom in how they configure their laptops depending on their work environment.
The Toughbook’s customisation was already unrivaled. The Toughbook was a great choice for people in unusual and high-impact settings, from military bases to hospitals to construction zones. As a result, it’s easy to see why Panasonic’s decision to embrace the modular approach is being hailed as a brilliant move, and the possibilities that Panasonic is opening up for its customers are intriguing.
What’s Different About the MK2 Model?
“With the latest TOUGHBOOK 55, we’ve evolved in lockstep as our customers’ needs change, providing increased modularity, reliability, and flexibility to vertical workers operating in unpredictable environments,” said Magnus McDermid, Sr. Vice-President of Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America.
The 11th Gen Intel® CoreTM i5 and i7 Processor will be included in the upgraded MK2. It will also include twice as much RAM as the MK1, as well as Intel® Iris® Xe graphics as an option. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are also available on the new Toughbook.
