Low-Carb Holiday Side Dishes
You may be concerned about the approaching holidays, which is understandable. Temptations are high, and family members are continuously questioning why you aren’t eating or why you aren’t trying their food!
Prepare some low-carb sides that even your non-keto relatives and friends will love to alleviate Christmas stress! Here are a few of our favorites:
I know you didn’t believe we’d have everything ready for the holidays. What’s this?! You can enjoy a keto-friendly Christmas season without sacrificing your favorite foods.
Cheese Sauce Is An Absolute Must!
Any casserole, whether cheesy or not, requires a solid foundation. To guarantee that everyone digs in, we believe cheesy is the way to go. The beauty of a casserole dish is how easy it is to prepare and how difficult it is to make a mistake.
We’ve included a basic cheese foundation for this casserole dish that you can use for any casserole dish. The mixture of cream cheese and sour cream gives this meal a creamy, somewhat tangy flavor, and we used Monterey and cheddar cheese for the cheeses. You don’t want the creamy foundation to overwhelm the rest of the components, so use whichever cheeses you have on hand.

Bake And Layer
Making a casserole dish has no specific rhyme or sequence. Ultimately, everything is cooked together in the same dish to blend into one another. It’s simple to make, and you may use any fillings or toppings you like.
The only thing I would add is to make sure everything is well covered with cheese sauce before baking. That will ensure that each mouthful is excellent! You won’t need to bake to finish this dish since everything has already been cooked.
As a result, you may experiment with the cook time. You should certainly make sure that all of the cheese has melted and that everything is hot, but if you’re in a hurry, this dish may be baked and served in no time!
Tip: To gently brown the cheese, put on the broiler for 1-2 minutes towards the end!
Presentation
You want guests to be impressed when you serve a casserole dish, particularly around the holidays. You want it to seem as though you toiled away at the stove to prepare the meals. And, without all the slaving, the greatest way to create that illusion is to nail it with presentation.
Setting aside part of the ingredients, like we did in this recipe, enables you to decorate the final meal with color. Fresh herbs usually work well, so even if it’s not specified in the recipe, finely cut some parsley or chives and sprinkle on top before or after baking!
This Holiday Season, Stay On Track!
Making a choice and not overthinking things is a wonderful way to approach the holiday. Do you want to splurge on some of your favorite holiday treats or do you want to stick to your diet? You won’t feel guilty or remorse after you’ve made that choice for yourself because you’ve incorporated it into your strategy!
Regardless of whatever route you choose, we have all of the keto holiday dishes you’ll need, from sides to desserts!
