A lot of goodies for today.
First, FirstShowing.net tells us Tom Cruise is a go for Mission Impossible: 4. This is good news because A) I like Tom Cruise, even though he comes across as a flake in real life, and B) this is an ideal opportunity for the Ethan Hunt character to pass the torch of the MI methodologies on to a new generation.
Also from FirstShowing.net, the writers of Zombieland talk about the plans for a 3-D sequel. I can’t recall ever seeing a zombie movie in 3-D, but I WOULD LOVE TO, especially given the 3-D technology that we have today. Brains, brains, and more brains…all over you and the audience! Woo-hoo!
SciFi Squad reports the rights to the Terminator franchise have finally been purchased, but not by who we thought would get them. Neither Sony nor LionsGate walked away with them…in the end, it was a company called Pacificor. Interestingly, this is the company that (technically) forced Halcyon (the company behind Terminator: Salvation) into bankruptcy. I imagine that Pacificor has no interest in making future movies and will ultimately sell the rights off for a profit.
Next, SciFi Scanner turns the tables on a popular subject of mine and gives us the Worst Video Games Based on Movies. I agree with EVERY entry on this list, especially #1. I can’t tell you how mad #1 made me for a long time. It traumatized me as a child, which probably explains a lot to a lot of people.
And finally, Orbit Books is bringing us a romantic zombie-comedy novel this fall in the form of Married with Zombies by Jesse Petersen. According to the site above,
“The book is about two unlikely heroes — a couple on the verge of divorce. On their way to marriage counseling, they notice a few odd things: a missing guard, a lack of cars on the freeway, and their counselor ripping out the throat of her previous client. Now it’s up to David and Sarah to work together, save their marriage — and survive in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.”
The book is chock-full of valuable post-apocalyptic marriage advice, including:
• Balance the workload in your relationship. No one person should be responsible for killing all the zombies.
• Put the small stuff into perspective. It’s better to be wrong and alive than right but eating brains.
• Talk out your big decisions. Hear both opinions before you decide if you’re going to flee the city or hole up with Campbell’s Soup and CNN.
• Share in your activities and interests. If you’re going to kill zombies anyway, why not do it together?
• Plan romantic getaways. Or just getaways.
• Show physical affection. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like bearing the entirety of your spouse’s body weight.
I’m so excited about this book that I can’t put it into words! How funny does this sound! Unfortunately, we have to wait 8 months before we can read it.
That’s about all I have for now. More later.

It looks like my more popular actor Tom Cruise is up to it again. He has a new motion picture coming out with Cameron Diaz and it looks like it’s going to be a good 1, I just truly enjoy Tom Cruise movies, I believe he’s really very good at these sorts of action films. This latest movie is an action-comedy centered on a fugitive couple on a exciting and at times deadly adventure where nothing and no a single – even themselves – are what they seem to be. Between moving alliances and surprising betrayals, they race across the world, with their survival ultimately depending on the battle of truth vs . trust- I cannot wait for this to come out.
